Tangram started with an actual tangram puzzle. Solving one, the question that followed was simple: what if a coffee table worked the same way — small pieces instead of one large object, rearranged depending on what the moment called for?
That question became two product lines sharing one design system: Tangram Rectangle and Tangram Square. Both have moved past concept — samples are built, geometry is validated, and the system is ready for production or bulk order today.
The real opportunity revealed itself partway through development: making the table multi-piece didn't just solve a styling problem, it let every owner adapt the table to their own room, or even design their own layout. The pieces don't have to stay together, either — split them apart and they double as side tables.
Solving the geometry on paper came first and came easily. What took real time was making sure every leg structure met the floor at exactly the right angle to support every one of those configurations without compromise — a problem of precision, not invention.

Idea
Most coffee tables are a single, fixed decision — one shape, one size, one place in the room. Tangram asks what happens if that decision is handed to the owner instead, broken into pieces small enough to rearrange whenever the room, the occasion, or the mood calls for it.
Form
Both lines share metal-profile legs and a shared design logic, but solve the geometry differently. Rectangle's two-unit system and Square's single repeating unit were each engineered so that every leg meets the floor at the correct angle across every configuration — the part of this project that took the most precision to get right.
- Tangram Rectangle
Built from two units that combine into a 120×90cm table at full size, with tabletops available in marble, glass, or colored wood. The same two units can be rearranged into more than 100 different configurations — split apart as side tables, or recombined into entirely different shapes depending on the room.
- Tangram Square
A single repeating unit, geometrically designed so that four pieces form a 90×90cm table — and the same unit recombines into more than 50 other configurations. Tops are finished in metal or perforated metal panels.
Function
Neither system requires all its pieces to stay in one place. Owners can run the full configuration as a single table, or split the units apart entirely — using them as separate side tables around a room rather than one fixed centerpiece.
That flexibility isn't a bonus feature bolted onto a fixed table. It's the entire premise the geometry was built to support.
Differentiation
Modular furniture usually means a handful of preset layouts. Tangram doesn't offer a handful — it offers more configurations than most owners will ever use, which is the point: the table adapts to a room rather than asking the room to adapt to it.
Few coffee table systems let an owner genuinely design their own version of the product. Tangram does, without requiring any design skill to do it.
Impact
